If you travel from Chamonix and you cross the Swiss border, your GPS system will probably send you directly to the left in the direction of Chatelard Village. Don't do this, this is a very steep and narrow mountain road that could lead to serious problems, especially in winter. Ignore this side road and continue straight forward for about 1 km, then take the second road (first one is closed and goes into a tunnel) to the left. Just watch out for the sign Finhaut, see the map.
