Here we will start the impressive Via Ferrata/Iron Way to the Rotstock (2663 m). But first we have to gain height. We walk directly under the legendary Eiger North Face to the start of the Via Ferrata. In climbing harness and with helmet we work our way up via ladders and steel cables securing ourselves with a so called Via Ferrata set.
From the Rotstock we descent and we stay the night at the Kleine Scheidegg, very special indeed. This is the purity of Switzerland.

Spectaculaire klettersteig naast de Eiger noordwand
After a comfortable night in a fine hotel (dortoirs) we will take the Jungfraubahn (train) to the Jungfraujoch (3534 m). Halfway we catch a glimpse of the Eiger North Face, seen from the Stollenloch. After having visited this interesting mountain station, we rope up safely with the mountain guide and cross the largest glacier in Europe, the Aletsch glacier until the Konkordiaplatz. Through a labyrinth of crevasses, we reach a long series of ladders up to the nice Konkordia hut. The following days we get used to the rhythm of getting up early, having breakfast and enjoying a beautiful and tough trekking over high glaciers to the next hut. Via the Finsteraarhorn hut and the Oberaarhorn hut we continue our trekking towards the Grimsel pass and finally the Rhone glacier, the origin of the river Rhone. Via the Grosse Scheidegg we return to our hotel in Grindelwald by bus. Here we will enjoy our last dinner together.
Alpine experience is an advantage for this trip; a very high level of physical and mental fitness is required because some of the daytrips are long and the altitude is high. You will be instructed in the use of the Via Ferrata set, crampons, ice ax and rope.
