Ski tour Gran Paradiso - Italy

Ski tour incl. climbing Gran Paradiso (4061m)

This moderately difficult, beautiful and classic ski tour through the National Park Gran Paradiso has an additional charm because of the presence of marmots, chamois and Ibex goats. Gran Paradiso (4061m) is considered one of the easiest four-thousanders to climb.

The meeting-point is near Chamonix. Next morning after the material check, our guide will accompany us on a descent in one of the ski areas of Chamonix. After lunch we leave Chamonix and travel through the Mont Blanc Tunnel to Val de Cogne – Valmontey.

Then up we go for the next three hours by foot and/or using skins to Rifugio Vittorio Sella (2584m), our comfortable starting point for the next two days. Enjoy the Italian gastronomy and hospitality. You will easily feel at home in this spacious hut. From the peak of Punta del Inferno (3395m) and Grande Sertz (3552m) we have a lovely view of the Vanoise, Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso.

Halfway through the week we descend and spend the night in a comfortable hotel, where we will enjoy a good night's sleep. Now that we are well acclimatized, we are fit to start our climb of Gran Paradiso, the milestone of the week. Enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Alps when the weather is good. With a little luck we can descend all the way to Pont to relax and enjoy. 

For this great week you should be able to ski smoothly in all sorts of snow.
